Calculator price guarantee

The price shown before payment is the final order price

The analysis takes longer than a simple price-per-gram calculation because we check the real print time, filament use, model orientation and supports. After payment, we do not add a mandatory file preparation fee or a hidden production surcharge.

Clear pricing without waiting

Affordable custom 3D printing - what determines the price?

Every model is priced individually using PrusaSlicer data. You do not pay according to an arbitrary price list, and before ordering you can see the unit price and the complete cost summary.

01

Printer operating time

PrusaSlicer estimates the time required after checking the best model orientation and the selected settings.

A shorter printing time usually means a lower production price.

02

Filament use

The calculator reads the estimated filament mass. A larger model, supports and a higher infill increase material use.

The material cost depends on its type and the number of grams used.

03

Model settings

Layer height, nozzle diameter, infill and supports affect printing time, surface quality and the amount of material required.

Changing the parameters updates the print quote.

04

Quantity and delivery

After receiving the quote, choose the quantity. InPost parcel locker or courier delivery is calculated separately from the total order volume.

The unit price remains the key value in the summary.

Help with choosing parameters

3D printing calculator settings - what should you choose?

There is no single best setting for every model. Higher accuracy usually means a longer print, while faster production can reduce the reproduction of the smallest details. The most important differences are explained below.

Affects appearance, detail and printing time

Layer height

This is the thickness of each horizontal model layer. The lower the value, the more layers the printer needs to produce.

Lower value

A smoother surface and better fine details, but a longer printing time and higher price.

Higher value

A faster and cheaper print, but more visible layer lines and fewer small details.

Tip: A universal choice is usually 0.20 or 0.25 mm. The 0.25 mm nozzle offers profiles from 0.05 to 0.15 mm, while the 0.8 mm nozzle offers profiles from 0.30 to 0.55 mm.

Affects accuracy, speed and wall thickness

Nozzle diameter

This is the diameter of the opening through which filament flows. A smaller nozzle produces thinner lines, while a larger one extrudes more material in the same time.

Smaller nozzle

Reproduces small details and thin features more accurately, but prints more slowly.

Larger nozzle

Speeds up printing and creates thicker lines, but limits the accuracy of small details.

Tip: A 0.25 mm nozzle is best for the smallest details, 0.4 mm is universal, 0.6 mm speeds up larger models and 0.8 mm is intended for the largest simple parts.

Affects weight, material use and stiffness

Infill

Infill creates the internal structure of the model. A print does not have to be solid to remain stable and strong in typical applications.

Lower infill

A lighter, faster and cheaper print. Suitable for decorative and lightly loaded parts.

Higher infill

Greater stiffness, but also more filament, a longer print and a higher price.

Tip: 20% is a safe starting point for most orders.

Affects the number of outer perimeters and part durability

Model strength

Perimeters form the outer walls of a model. Increasing their number often improves strength more effectively than using very high infill.

Decorative - 2 perimeters

Lower weight and shorter printing time for figures, decorations and lightly loaded models.

Standard - 3 perimeters

A universal default for most enclosures, prototypes and functional parts.

Reinforced - 4 perimeters

More reserve for brackets and functional components at the cost of time and material.

Tip: Choose the standard option unless you have special requirements. Any safety-critical part should be tested separately.

Read the guide to print perimeters

Affects the appearance of flat surfaces and printing time

Top surface smoothing

Ironing adds extra hot-nozzle passes over the highest flat surfaces, using a small amount of material to smooth the extrusion lines.

Ironing enabled

Improves visible flat plates, lettering and covers, but increases printing time.

Ironing disabled

A faster print. Best when the top surface is hidden, curved or purely technical.

Tip: Enable smoothing only when a visible horizontal top surface matters. It does not smooth the sides or the entire model.

Learn when ironing is useful

Affect whether overhangs and difficult shapes can be printed

Supports

Supports are temporary structures placed under sections that would otherwise be printed in mid-air. They are removed after printing.

With supports

A better chance of printing a difficult shape correctly, but more material, time and possible marks after removal.

Without supports

A lower price and cleaner surface, but large overhangs may not print correctly.

Tip: The calculator analyses the model and tells you when supports are recommended.

Affects appearance, resistance and the final application

Filament type

Choose a material for where and how the finished part will be used. Each filament has different strengths.

PLA

An attractive surface, good detail and a low price. Less resistant to high temperature.

PETG

Good moisture and impact resistance. Its surface can show more fine strings than PLA.

ABS

Better temperature resistance and good strength, but more susceptible to shrinkage during printing.

ASA

An outdoor material resistant to UV, weather and elevated temperature.

TPU 95A

A flexible filament for bumpers, feet, covers and parts designed to bend.

Nylon

A technical filament for gears, guides, bushings, clips and wear-resistant parts.

Carbon-fibre Nylon (PA6-CF20)

Nylon with 20% carbon fibre for exceptionally rigid and heat-resistant technical parts.

Carbon-fibre Nylon (PA12-CF10)

Nylon with 10% carbon fibre for rigid, dimensionally stable technical parts.

Tip: Choose PLA for appearance, PETG for functional parts, ABS for heat, ASA outdoors, TPU 95A for flexible parts, Nylon for wear, PA6-CF20 for maximum rigidity and heat, and PA12-CF10 for stability around moisture.

3D printing materials

Eight 3D printing materials - from PLA to PA6-CF20 and PA12-CF10

Material affects not only price, but above all the resistance and appearance of the finished part. Choose it for the application rather than price alone.

An honest view of FDM technology

3D printing quality and accuracy - what can you expect?

3D printing can produce a finished part quickly without an expensive mould, but it has different properties from injection moulding. Account for them while preparing the model.

01

Visible layers

FDM prints are produced layer by layer, so fine lines may be visible. A lower layer height improves the surface but increases printing time.

02

Dimensional fit

Filament changes dimensions slightly during printing and cooling. Holes, clips and sliding parts should be designed with suitable clearance.

03

Support marks

Supports make difficult overhangs possible, but the contact surface can be rougher after removal than the rest of the model.

04

Directional strength

Layer orientation affects resistance to loads. Material, infill and geometry should match the intended application.

Tip: when two parts are intended to connect, include assembly clearance directly in the model.
